• Designed the product strategy and merge of McKinsey’s two main climate finance software for spatial assessment of physical hazards and financial assessment of transition risks.

• Designed circular and sustainable innovations in the digital, industrial, and service design space for clients in the automotive, energy, fashion, private equity, transportation, packaging, and food industries.

• Led project’s assessment of environmental impact (LCAs, water footprint, carbon, cost, and circularity) including ESG analysis and cost/opportunities of current and future climate policies.

• Developed first-of-a-kind circular design principles and led their integration to BOM calculator in software for emission reduction pathways, Catalyst Zero Product.

• Introduced the use and adoption of strategic design and systems thinking methodologies for complex problems for the National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) unit, Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) and Loss and Damage team.

• Led the development of interactive data projects for analysis of the climate change adaptation progress and support of the Least Developed Countries

• Led the development of websites for NAP Central, UN for NAPs, and Open NAP initiative to increase accessibility and information transparency and knowledge management

• Collaborated in the communication of the iFrame systemic approach to NAPs, Paris Agreement Aligned Training, Open (source) NAP initiative, NAP Progress Report 2021, 20 years of Adaptation Support to LDCs, etc.

• Knowledge management services for the Climate and Energy Practice. Strategic design, innovation workshops, tools for knowledge transfer and discussions applied for various teams including the Carbon Markets Taskforce, the Oil & Gas Network Policy, the 6 Areas of Collective Action and Innovation, the Marrakech Partnership, and the Global offices’ Focal Points alignment meeting.

• Co-design of the concept for the Africa Adaptation Hub with a focus on Nature-based Solutions for Climate Adaptation. Developing the value proposition and sustainable financial model. Co-creating the NBS4A standards and an incubator & accelerator for Nbs4A at the cross-boundary landscape level.

• Supported the Africa Energy Access Initiative to create a theory of change, communication materials, and governance structure. Analysis of energy policies of 7 different African countries.

• Taught 16-hours/week class “Pensamiento y Proceso Creativo” (Creative Thinking and Process) centered on the overall design process with a focus on design research.

• Guided design students to understand systems theory, the Anthropocene, the water cycle, and the circular economy in relation to strategic design and design research (quantitative and qualitative techniques) to identify design opportunities in the topic of the water economy.

• Designed the educational platform of Mayday.earth, which focuses on granting the global south educational access to the topics of Climate Engineering, including Carbon Dioxide Removal and Solar Radiation Management. The mission is to allow a diverse, inclusive and informed discussion of Geoengineering to accelerate the governance of Geoengineering.

• Lead the development of re+connect, a civic-tech solution to connect CBOs and disaster management agencies to boost vulnerable communities’ resilience against natural disasters created by climate change

• Developed a proposal for the Africa Energy Access Initiative through a close collaboration with the WWF Global Climate and Energy Practice and eight WWF African offices. Performed a systemic analysis of WWF local initiatives, work from other organizations, and countries’ contexts to identify potential opportunity areas for a high-impact initiative, including funding and collaboration opportunities

• Used CMP Open Standards (adaptive management model for conservation projects) to develop a conceptual model and used design research tools through the review of 120 published reports and 42 interviews with Government, Private Sector Associations, Multi and Bilateral DFIs, and other programs

• Produced three option papers recommending strategic interventions for a high-impact initiative, eight fact sheets assessing each country's energy access situation, and gave a presentation to the steering committee, including the COP 20 president, to bridge knowledge between international, regional, and local initiatives.

• Established the foundations to develop the studio and its concept through collaborative exercises.

• Designed workshops, toolkits and offered guided consulting for companies and professionals to adopt creative methodologies

• Responsible for tracking the team’s efficiency, developing the visual information communication materials, and co-moderating workshops for over 100 participants

• Redesigned the company’s strategy and structure, organizational culture, and visuals to achieve its communication successfully.

• Developed communication techniques and sales recording tools to match the existing different processes in all stores.

Mitsue has a curious mind and finds fascination in learning from a variety of topics. She also finds pleasure in visiting museums, being around nature and singing. She wrote a novel as a teenager and was a member of a dance company for 4 years. She enjoys making things herself and has experience with diverse materials, tools, and crafts, from ceramics and woodwork to sewing and 3D printing. She practices a mindful and minimal-waste lifestyle.
